Art VS IT / Monday, February 23, 2009

Why Art VS IT? this is a very interesting personal topic of mine. Lately I've been given suggestions from my close friends on moving onto Art, reason being that being an art teacher I would easily secure an "IRON Bowl" which means a secured job as they are needing more and more teachers in the workforce, not only that Art teachers are quite on demand due to not many people actually do fine arts.

Well, I did considered that before as so called my "last resort" as I thought that being a teacher might not be able to bring in as much revenue as I had dreamed of. I want a good life with my wife and kids, something like every holiday also go overseas. I want to travel the world haha. But again, its a secure job and even right now, my current certificate that I had gotten few years ago had actually allows me to teach as primary school standard!

Teaching might be one of my choices under consideration as I do like presenting as well as teaching and I love kids! What's more? I love art! But there is one thing that sucks me towards IT industry, IT is a multi billion industry.

One of my past lecturer used to ask me this when I'm choosing options ( E-Commerce Technologies & Enterprise Computing). "Kelvin, do you want to be a general manager which earns over 10k per month or a boss of a company that earns few hundred k every month" Well if i were to compare this to teaching I guess both is good haha.

But yea, I one day IT doesn't runs smoothly for me you might see me in one of the art galleries selling art pieces or in an art school teaching art. Haha who knows? but i find it sweet if I were to open an art gallery with my wife lol~ haven't met many girls that appreciates art so might be a problem =X

Here's some cute videos from Microsoft!

Prawns for V-Day / Wednesday, February 18, 2009

So yea, most people this few days would most probably be engaging into the topic of " Eh your valentines day how ar?" and the answers were most probably be.
"dinner lo?" ,
"wah the movie hor hor hor super nice leh!"
"my bi bi super duper uper sweet sweet neh he gimme chocolate as flowers~"
"stay at home study =( exams coming"
Well these are quite common answers I would say but yea some are really nice and similar to what i would like to say .
Movie. Dinner.

BUT... This year i have something different, my bro Justin actually brought us to prawn fishing at Pasir Ris Farmway 2 ! The experience I can say it's awesome, I don't do fishing neither had I did prawning before but I enjoyed it. We actually burn the whole night from 11 30 pm to 4 30 am!

These are chicken heart i think for us to use as bait. =/

Well at the end of the day or i say night because its going to be morning soon haha We BBQ our prawns. Quite a sad thing as we had only caught 6 but yea good effort =x

 Photo0766a

ITS VERY FRESH AND JUICY!!!!

 Photo0767a

Well, thanks bro for bring us =) as well as Veon ( a friend from my diploma) he taught me some catching techniques haha.

Something out of the topic, here's 2 videos that my classmate Xinyi showed me. It's very hilarious haha. I know I enjoyed so I think you would =)

Well here's something about me, many people would say I have a very thick skin! But now I think i have dead skin not thick skin, basically i don't feel anything during presentation or even imprompto presentations. I guess that should be a good thing =X I just love to present! BUT i need to declare, when it comes to girls my dead skin become no skin =X

Alrights! holidays soon haha happy happy happy

GYM wasted! / Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Woot! been very busy with school these days, enjoying & non-enjoying things but this few weeks are quite enjoyable due to the types of projects I'm doing which are more techy.

CNY = 15 days.
15 days = massive food bombardment

Tons of food, good food? yea some of the days. Had been enjoying abalone! for these weeks. Abalone are always so heavenly~~~~even if eaten straight from the can~

My dream is to have 1 abalone for dinner each day~ woo~
Well, who knows? maybe too much abalone might make me sick of it someday haha.

Been working out these days but all gone down the drain lol due to having big meals with family for celebration. Few days ago just had a meal at Long Beach King @ Kallang ( near KFC & Macdonald)

Seriously, the seafood there totally redefines the word "Sea food" and truly explains the word"King" behind it's name. The "Live" seafood there are simply humongous! One type of crab has a body that is actually around the size of my head and might given be bigger! Photo0713a

Here's my Chili Crab! I'm really impressed on how they decorated and presented the dish, it's really amazing and even provided areas for dipping of buns (Man Tou) It's just simply delicious, the crab is so fresh that the leg meat can be pulled out as a piece!

Photo0715aand there's the claw! see the size of it! and its mine haha. I love de-shelling crabs, deshell it in as a way that it came out as a whole like a crab meat nugget and slowly enjoy it xD.

Photo0712a

Not forgetting...Man tous! What's chili crab without a dish of man tous to go along with..

Well enough of the food talk , just makes me feel like going back again haha.Photo0717a

Here's my latest progress on the piece! It might look small but the length is actually around a metre long. Kinda like this picture although it looks dull due to my selected of style to suit "Sephia" if i had spelled correctly.

Thinking of it, it's kind of irony as i kept shrimps, crabs and lobster as pets and I've been eating their "distance relatives" at restaurants this new year. Hmm speaking of that, I've been thinking lately about something that my friend had told me about. I'm a weird guy..hmm.

I do IT stuffs <== most people would think : "WOOT GEEK!", well i don't think i look like one though lol

I do painting <== quite low profile on this, maybe i don't have the look of an artist and besides, not much people these days actually appreciate art =/

I keep pets<== Maybe dogs, rabbits and hamster are still alright , the fact that they are cute. Maybe cause of my invertebrates i guess.but yea they have be cute at times too like my lobster asking me for food with his claws or my shrimps quarraling, it's kinda cute haha

I quite enthu when it comes to event or even coding<== Yea, this might be one problem as some people may not have the same thinking as me

Well, yea I'm still enjoying myself so i think it doesn't really matters what other think but it might be an issue when it comes to relationships haha, So...Better keep some of these as secrets..lol and here i am blogging about them.

Alrights, signing off.

Not the nicest guy but sure not the worst guy you can find.

Well i saw this on Ting's blog!

Check it out!

What is your True Fear?
Your Result: Losing Someone

You love affection and the people in your life more than anything. Your greatest fear is that one day someone you care about won't be there anymore. You are a very friendly and inviting person, who draws in a lot of friendships with your kind, considerate, and loyal nature. However, deep down you are slightly insecure and unsure of yourself. You couldn't deal with it if you didn't have one of your loved ones in your life anymore. You don't have too much to worry about though, because with a friend like you, no one will want to lose you either!

Back to blogging / Monday, February 02, 2009

Woot, long time since i last blog because..it's the Chinese New Year! for short CNY. Really enjoyed myself this year although it felt like the atmosphere wasn't there at the start but it came back after all to me. I feel happier and more excited when i see my friends and relatives going around shaking hands, saying happy new year and recieveing red packets "ang bao".

This year, i recieve more or less around the same as last year, and again i kept all the red packets (empty) ones. Believe it or not i still kept the ang baos that i recieved 3 yrs ago especially from elders. As there was this saying that, keeping ang baos is like keeping the blessing from them or blessing them, i can't remember clearly but i remembered someone told me before and that's why i kept them.

The new year was smooth and i hope it will stay like this for years to come. This few weeks , did alot of crazy stuffs as well as fun stuffs like sitting in a car drove by my buddy Justin, well basically we look like 2 young boys whom secretly drove out the car although he has a license. Was fun, and interesting haha

Me myself, did start driving as well , fun driving a car. I went for my lesson last saturday and start driving around the carpark and even learn parking. Woo, the instructor (Uncle Tan) can't believe that i didn't drove before and said i'm ready to drive out! so excited and can't wait for my next lesson.

Well, just now when i was walking home, something struck me and i started thinking about this. Usually adults as well as teachers would tell students or young teenagers like us that, school is the place where you make mistakes as well as correcting them. But what i disagreed was, sometimes this isn't true anymore. Imagine yourself as a top student or somebody that is getting a scholarship and just 1 fine day where your alarm clock spoil and you missed a test, then you just miss everything and i mean EVERYTHING, including the scholarship and might even lost your DWM(Diploma with Merit) if you are in poly. Some people might think, yea it isn't the school fault , it's the student fault because he/ she should have a backup alarm or ask your parents to wake up.But this small mistake might just curved, the student's future or change his/her life forever as even a DWM would open more doors then just a normal diploma. Therefore i don't think we can even make certain mistakes in school.

No worries, this are just my thoughts, not referring to anyone or any school. =)
